BTW and discounts
BTW. Under Dutch law, lessons for students under 21 are exempt from BTW (Dutch VAT). From the day a student turns 21, 21% BTW is added to the rate.
Quantity discount. A quantity discount of 5% applies when one or more students of the same household take at least € 119,80 worth of lessons per week.
Young adult discount. A 10% discount applies for young adults who are no longer at high school and are under 29 years of age, for violin or piano lessons of 45 or 60 minutes. (The discount does not apply to 30-minute instrument lessons, chamber music lessons and solfège lessons.)
Rates may increase at the beginning of each calendar year. New rates are announced at least one month before they take effect.
